I need to get from the train station in La Spezia to Portovenere. I have the bus schedule but cannot understand which stop is the train station, I assume that there must be a bus stop at the train station. If it is "La Spezia FS V. Fiume" it only list two times, can't be. But I understand the next stop "Stadio Picco" is the football stadium some distance away. I thought the stop as Viale Garibaldi but now understand that is a one way stop on the way back not to Portovenere. Has anyone made this connection. Can I just assume I can easily find the bus stop and busses come every 20 minutes or so? We are coming in early to mid evening so do want to understand the details.

It looks like you would need to take a cab to the Via Chiodo stop.

Go to this page on the ATC site. On the right-hand side you'll see "Search for Bus Timetable". You'll get detailed directions and a Google map showing the 7-minute, 600-meter walk from La Spezia Centrale to Cammina fino a Garibaldi which is where you will board the bus.
