Thanks to everyone for your help. We just have one more question. If we take the Express SITA into Florence from Siena, will we stow our luggage under bus or keep it with us? One of the women traveling with us is concerned about having to hold our suitcase on our lap. thanks again.

The luggage will go in the storage under the bus. You will be expected to haul it out yourself though.

All European buses I have seen place luggage under the passenger compartment. It is easy to reach. You can carry any small bags on board with you if you want to hold on your lap, place in overhead bin or set on the floor.
