We will be in this area for 3 nights and I notice taxis to Nice and Monte Carlo are expensive but buses are cheap. My question is how to find out how late bus service is offered each day.

Timetables in English for bus #82 and bus #112 from Nice to Eze-le-Village can be found here. Bus #112 goes on to Beausoleil (Monaco).

There is frequent and very cheap train service between Nice and Monaco. Trains run at least twice an hour. For timetables go here. Enter Nice Ville and Monaco-Monte-Carlo.

be aware sundays can be a problem ck to make sure. and in some FR towns taxis are almost impossible to get even in front of hotels and this is what happened to us in peak summer season in Antibes. ck ahead w/ tourist bureaus.
