My husband and I are taking the train to Auray (we have a railpass) and need to find out if there is bus service to Carnac where we are staying a couple of nights. If not how easy is it to get a taxi? Thank you

Yes, there's a bus from the Auray train station every half hour or so. It stops at the Carnac town square and out at the beach.
During July and August there's a shuttle from the town square to some of the major sites. To see all the stones you'll need some stout legs or a car. They stretch out about three miles. There's a pretty good museum a block or so north of the square that most people miss.
