We wanted to see Siena on a Sunday at twilight as recommended but notice the last bus looks to be about 5:10 pm. However, there is a later bus (around 8pm?) that says its for Sunday but has a number beside. On the key, that number corresponds to July or August(not our travel month.) Does that mean that the late bus ONLY runs on the month that is numbered?
Bus schedules in Italy are greatly reduced on Sundays. I'm looking at the SITA bus schedule on the SITA site and I see the Sunday 8:10pm bus marked with a 4. The note on my schedule also says "runs from 7/1 to 8/31". Looks to me like they put on an additional run in those summer months.
Not to worry, however, as Siena has a train station about a mile slightly downhill from the town. You can take the public bus, a taxi or simply walk down. CLICK HERE to see a current Sunday schedule.
Larry, you are a transportation guru! Thank you so much!
