Bus or Train from Rome to Sorrento?

Hi everyone! I am flying into Rome and plan to spend my first few days in Sorrento. Has anyone taken the Marozzi bus from Rome's Tiburtina's station to Sorrento instead of the Circumvesusiana? Is it difficult to get from the FCO airport to this train station? And was it hard to then locate the Marozzi bus station? Just wondering if anyone has any opinions or recommendations? Thanks!

Sorry, I prefer to go by train, so can't advise anything about the bus. FWIW, the Circumvesusiana was just fine, I'd certainly do it again next time. I'd take a comfortable train from Rome to Naples, then walk downstairs to the Circumvesusiana, and take that.

Have you considered flying directly into Naples (NAP), then taking the curreri bus directly to Sorrento? The bus is right out in front of the Naples airport. Takes about 1H25min. Cost 10E To answer your question, take the FR1 local train to Triburtina The Curreri bus is also availavle at the Rome airport, leaves @14:00 arrives Sorrento 17:30. Cost 16E (curreriviaggi.it) first translate, then click schedules which brings up a pull down menu select Roma then Sorrento. Price, one way, is the 2nd column on the left. r/t is last on the left

We did this in reverse, traveled by BUS from Sorrento to Rome. The travel we learned is about the same amount of time - around 4 hours. The bus was comfortable, we knew we had a seat, the luggage was secure under the bus. (we even had our tandem bike with us in 2 cases) We took the bus because the train was down due to them finding an unexploded WWII bomb near some tracks...we had no choice really. The bus station isn't too far from Termani. We took a cab, not expensive.
The best part of this trip was we didn't have to lug our luggage with us and change trains in Naples, life saver! The bus drops you off right in the middle of Sorrento. Bus travel is like train travel, you will make several stops, but it was enjoyable, and I'd do it again.
