Bus from Melk Abbey to Danube cruise boat dock?

I see there is a bus that you can take to the Abbey from the train station but none from the Abbey to
the dock. Is walking the only way unless you can locate a taxi at the Abbey. We're in pretty good shape but downhill is a bit difficult for us. Any advice.

Back in 2001, we took the train from Vienna to Melk. At the Melk train station, we asked a taxi driver if he would take us to the Abbey, hold our luggage for us, return to pick us up in 2-3 hours and then take us to the boat dock, from which we took a boat to Durnstein. It worked out great. The driver was very kind and showed up on time. No problem. I realize that's nearly 20 years ago, but it's worth considering. As I recall, it wasn't very expensive. (You might check ahead if the Abbey will store your luggage, just in case you can't find a taxi that is willing to store it. We recently stored our luggage at a sherry tasting/horse show site in Spain and it was no problem (I emailed them ahead to be sure).

Thanks for the information, really appreciate you responding. As we're staying in Vienna, luggage isn't an issue. Taxis have been mentioned in several posts but only from the train station to the Abbey. I might just try to contact the office at the Abbey to see what they might suggest. We can't miss our boat but want to spend as much time as we can visiting the Abbey. Sprinting to the dock just isn't possible for us. Is there Uber in Melk- does anyone know?

I walked down from the Abbey to the dock which isn't very far. I also have some trouble walking downhill but it was an easy walk. It could be a problem if you are seriously mobility impaired but otherwise it shouldn't be.
