Bus from Amalfi to Ravello

Im thinking of having a tee shirt made that says "I survived the bus from Amalfi to Ravello and all I got was this lousy tee shirt." Ok- it's cheap, 1.50. But getting on it is like those videos of getting on the subway in tokyo- people cram the line, it's quite intense. Coming back was easier. Going up, consider the 10 euro shuttle.

Ravello is absolutely charming.

Welcome to Italy! Where a line can become……well, no line! LOL! My daughter & I were the 2nd/3rd people in line to go back down the hill, and we still had to establish our space & be quick on the move to board the bus. And this was in 2022 when travelers were still deciding whether to come post-Covid. We took the first bus of the day up to Ravello, so that one was fine. The gardens weren’t open, yet, so we had a nice espresso & cornetto in the piazza before walking into the garden as the first people. I agree - an amazing little town with stunning views!

Update: For the amount of people arriving in Ravello when we were back out of the gardens & ready to leave after a leisurely, lovely time and a stop at the gelato shop, I would consider staying in the town of Amalfi. We stayed two nights in Salerno & three nights in Amalfi. So we easily could take that first bus up to Ravello.

We bought tickets for the bus, when we lost faith it was ever going to show up, we took the $10.00 shuttle when it pulled up, Bought the tickets on the spot. We went to both Villas and then hiked down to Manori and took the ferry back. If I had it to do over again, I would have spent more time in Ravello and took the bus back and saved Manori for another day.
