Has anyone had experience booking a Reserved seat from Budapest to Munich using RAILJET high speed train?
It is a 7 1/2 hour trip and I need to have a comfortable reclining seat for my husband. I am willing to pay the upgrade cost from economy to first class or premium class. How far in advance can I make these arrangements? If anyone has had personal experience I would really appreciate your feedback.

Only option would be flying on Lufthansa Airline, and they're not a budget carrier.

Diane, I believe it's 90 days in advance since I could only purchase (hypothetically) for travel until 14 December.

Many European railroads up-date their schedules as of the 2nd weekend in December. These are loaded somewhere around a month and a half in advance. Before then, you cannot buy tickets past that date. Right now, that date corresponds to about 90 days from now, so it could be either. EditToAdd: If you purchase tickets from the German Rail (Bahn) website, tickets go on sale 92 days before the travel date.
