Does anyone know of a boat trip between these two cities? There seem to be many return day trips on the river, but not between the two places.

I don't think there are any boats on that route. Most people take a rather slow train from Budapest to Bratislava.
There are hydrofoils running from Bratislava into Vienna seasonally, however.

I found this one, it runs one trip a day in each direction, service between May 1 - Sept 29. Definitely not cheap though, train is faster and much cheaper, unless you just want the boat ride. Don't think the Danube is particularly scenic between those two places.

Thank you both very much.
We are already coming to Budapest by train from Zagreb, so thought a boat trip might be pleasant.
