Is it practical to travel by train from the Bruges/Brussels area to Copenhagen? If so, how long a trip would that be? I can't find anything on train travel between those two areas. Thanks.

Yes, it would be practical, particularly if you take a night train for part of the trip. For timetables go to www.bahn.de and click on "Internat. Guests" for English. Enter Brugge as your departure point and Koebenhavn as your arrival point. After you get summary timetables, click on "Details for all" to see the ocnnecting points.
Here are the two routes that include a night train: (1) Brugge-Bruxelles-Koeln-Koebenhavn with the Koeln-Koebenhavn leg being a night train, and (2) Brugge-Bruxelles-Hamburg-Koebenhavn with the Bruxelles-Hamburg leg being a night train.
