My daughter is living in France for a year and wants to buy a Britrail pass for a two week visit. The Britrail site (not Rick Steves' site :) )to buy in Euros she must be a European citizen. However, she's living there and being paid in Euros. Do you know if she can purchase a Britrail pass in Euros while living in France? Or do I really have to pay in dollars here and ship it to her? THANKS!
Are you on the official Britrail website? Have you set the country to France, right at the very top of the page? I just have and see nothing which says that somebody buying in France has to be French. All it says, several times, and in the FAQ reached from the bottom of the page, is that the individual must not be a resident of Britain and must be able to verify residence. Surely your daughter has her US passport and French residency document? That's what the conductor will want to see. Prices for France are in Euro. I saw nothing which said that purchases had to be made by a relative in the US nor that they had to be made in dollars.
