Trying to determine if purchasing a BritRail Pass is a better option than purchasing individual tickets. I'll be in England from June 26 through July 14. During that time I'll be making the following trips: Heathrow to London (Westminster / Pimlico area) (staying there 3 days) London to Salisbury (1 day round trip) London to Moreton-in-Marsh (staying there 6 days) Moreton-in-Marsh to Oxford (1 day round trip) Moreton-in-Marsh to Stratford-Upon-Avon (staying there 6 days) Stratford-Upon-Avon to Warwick (1 day round trip) Stratford-Upon-Avon to London (staying there 2 days) London (Westminster / Pimlico area) to Heathrow
If the BritRail Pass might be my better option, which of the two (Consecutive or Flex) would I want to get?
I didn't take the time to add up the cost of point-to-point tickets; but since you will be traveling roundtrip on several days, a pass might be your best choice. The one I would recommend is the 7 out of 15 days BritRail London Plus Pass. The Standard (2nd class) price is $239 and it includes two tickets for the Heathrow Express which you can use anytime, not only within the 15-day validity period of the pass.
Tim's recommendation is exactly what I would also suggest. I think you might actually save a few pounds by getting individual tickets, but the flexibility of being able to hop on a train based on your schedule for a particular day is worth it IMO.
