Britrail London Plus Pass

I am looking into getting a London Plus Pass that would allow me to travel 4 out of 8 days. The pass also comes with coupons from Gatwick to London. The info on this site and other sites that sell the pass states that the coupon from Gatwick would not count as a travel day. However, since I have to validate the pass before using the coupon, does that mean that would be the first day of the 8 day validation period? Or would that period begin on my first trip?

I have looked and cannot find out when the 8 days officially begins. Any help is much appreciated!

The information at http://tinyurl.com/5snpr4 seems to suggest that you do NOT have to validate your pass before using the coupons. I suggest that you call BETS (Budget Europe Travel Service) and get their expert opinion. Their toll-free numbers are on their Web site, www.budgeteuropetravel.com.

We bought a London Plus Pass as well, and it says using the airport coupon does not count as a travel day.

If you are coming in via Gatwick and taking the train to London, you'll come in to Victoria Station. Follow the crowd (if you need to use the loo, carry a 25 cent piece - the ladies' is on the left as you get into the station proper, and (at least 4 yrs ago) you needed a 25 to get through the turnstyle to the loo. Down the stairs to the left, LOTS of stalls available.
You can get the pass validated at the tourist information booth at whichever train station you will be leaving from.
Have fun - I absolutely adored the Brit rail system! Too bad we can't have/use the same throughout the US...

Thanks for your help. I have another silly question to those who have used passes- when you get on the train, can you just sit anywhere? Are there cars w/reserved seats and those w/open seating? I only ask b/c I bought advance tix for a later part of the trip that my pass won't cover, and saw that the advance tix provides me with specific seating. I don't want to accidently take someones seat when using the pass.
