For March 2019 the round trip fare from New York to Rome is $331, with hotel for 5 nights, $595/person. We've never tried one of these that included a hotel, preferring to arrange our own hotel but BA might have a good deal on hotels.

BA do have very good deals on hotels. I'm off to Prague this weekend, flights and 2 nights in a 4* hotel was £136 per person. Last October was a trip to Warsaw with a stay at the Westin for £130. Im sure they receive good rates because of frequent business.

I usually hate changing planes but at THIS price from JFK, I would do it in a heartbeat especially in March when it won't be brutally hot. George, you might want to go for it. Look at the hotels that are part of that deal. So for two together, it's an extra $528 for 5 nights' accommodations. $105.60 per night? Not bad -- just check to see if these are properties you would like and if they are in a good neighborhood for you. If not, the airfare is spectacular on its own. Go for it.
