Brit Air strike

What does an airline owe its passengers if the airline's employees go on strike? Do passengers get switched to other airlines, offered vouchers for future travel, refunds, or some other compensation? What happens if a passenger was able to make the first part of the trip, but because of a strike is unable to return home? Is there compensation for extra days in hotels, meals away from home, etc? Thanks in advance for your help.

Need to contact whom you purchase the ticket from in order to get the answers you are seeking.

The answer you will get here is based on individual circumstances and may not reflect what would happen with you.

Edwin is right. Everyone's experience is different by airline and by the specific event. I was booked on Air Canada back in the 90's when they went on strike. It was not a pleasant experience. I did ultimately get to England only a day late, but I spent the entire trip trying to figure out how I was getting home. I found that working directly with the airline was the only way to get things resolved. I had bought the ticket through travel agent, but she wasn't able to help me very much.
