Boston to Zurich flights

We are trying to find a flight from Boston to Zurich on April 13,2019 - preferably non stop. Right not non stops are prohibitively expensive and the 1 stop flights are with long layovers.

Any ideas on when/if these flights will come down in price or more non/1 stop flights will be added?

Have you explored BOS to AMS, LHR, CDG, or LIS and then on to Zurich?

How much is expensive? Are you flying one way or return? How flexible are your travel dates?

Are you looking for one-way tickets? Right now on kayak.com, I see TAP Air Portugal flight one-way BOS to ZRH on April 13, 2019 for $525. Layover in Lisbon is 3:14, very reasonable in my opinion. Icelandair has a flight for $692 but only 50-minute layover.
The rest of the one-way flights with reasonable layovers are $2000+.

This is one of those times when booking a round trip ticket with a plan to 'throw away' the return ticket can make financial sense. (General rule of thumb is that the airlines don't care if you do this as a one off but if you make a habit of it, they can mess with your frequent flyer account and such)

I'm seeing a round trip non-stop Boston-Zurich option for depart April 13, return April 21 for $1359. Fly the outbound, and then no-show the return flight. There might be other cheaper round trip options available with some digging.

Remember that many transatlantic routes in general are still significantly cheaper if you book as a round trip/multicity and unless you're using miles or transatlantic ship to get home, putting the Random European City/Boston return home onto a multicity ticket is usually enough to make the round trip discount fare rules kick in.

We live in Vermont, traveling to Zurich in June. I’ve been tracking prices from Boston, Hartford, Burlington, and Montreal for 136 days. The nonstop out of Logan has barely budged over that timeframe, and I agree that it’s expensive (currently >$1400 for our itinerary, which is open jaw returning from Venice).

I wound up buying tickets out of Montreal and felt like I got a good deal at $870 US, nonstop both ways. Of course it went down to $760 after I bought the tickets.... can’t win ‘em all...

I don’t know specifically where you are, but if Montreal is an option, I’d check there.

At this point I would not expect that airlines will be adding flights that are not already announced.

It is possible non stop prices may come down but there is no way to know.

If the non stops are "prohibitively expensive" then seemingly, you need to pick the least objectionable long layover. Or pick a date with friendlier pricing to your destination.

Try Icelandair. We've done BOS--Zurich in the recent past, flights (May to mid-June) around $800. You change planes in Reykjavik, but the layover is only +/- one hour (and they make sure you don't miss your connection).
