Boston Logan Express

Has anyone used the Logan Express Bus service from Boston Logan Airport? We are considering using it to go from Logan to Braintree for a Thanksgiving visit. We don't want to make my brother-in-law have to endure the Southeast Expressway to come pick us up during rush hour Thanksgiving week.

Yes, I’ve used the Logan Express Bus service to Woburn a few times, worked out well. It picks up outside the terminals and I recall being able to pay on the bus.

Yes I’ve used Logan Express several times between Framingham and Logan. I buy my ticket on their website and show it on my phone.

Do be ready and waiting at the terminal pick up point because the bus doesn’t sit around — my experience is that the bus driver pulls up, gets out and yells which destination (Woburn, Framingham, or Braintree), pauses about 2 seconds, then gets back on the bus and off we go.

I've used the Logan Express to Framingham several times -
Pros - it's comfortable and much cheaper parking rate ($7.00 a day last time I checked) than Logan Airport. My experience is my car was always safe in the parking lot.
Cons - I think the bus only comes around once per hour or so at the terminals. Like the others said, pay close attention. There are several MassPort buses that come around and they are not always clearly marked. The other con is traffic. Not their fault, but there seems to always be a lot of traffic to and from the airport to the Logan Express parking lots.

Yes, the Logan Express bus is easy and comfortable to Braintree.

However, I used the subway usually as I could walk home from there, but one must change subway lines to get to the South Shore and you might not be comfortable with that. The most fun is taking the harbor ferry from Logan…but it might not fit with your ultimate destination (Quincy, Hingham)…and I don’t know which lines survived Covid..

Or you could take the Silver line(bus) to South Station for the Red Line to Braintree) and then you don’t need to change subway trains (this was our preference).

Thanks everyone! We had initially thought we'd take the T but we have more baggage than usual and didn't want to do the bus to T, change trains dance. I looked at the ferry schedule and it's still very limited between Hingham and Logan. :-(

Trotter, It sounds like the Logan Express will be best for you. Also, the location is pretty easy for anyone on the south shore.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I used the Logan Express to and from Copley Square because it was easier and quicker than blue line-to-red line-to-green line on the T and reverse. Busses were timely and clean. As noted above, they don’t linger at Logan!
