MSP is now allowing passengers to book their security screening ahead of time at terminal 2 during certain time slots. Terminal 2 is the smaller terminal at MSP. If it is successful, they are thinking about moving it to Terminal 1 as well.
Mardee , is there a problem specific to the layout of MSP that this is attempting to solve?
Mardee, thanks. MSP is my airport and I found this very interesting. I watch WCCO and hadn't heard that yet.
Thanks Tom. That makes sense.
I like the idea and would avail myself of the opportunity if it were offered at the airport I departed from.
Thanks for reminding to make my reservation at SEA for next week.
Signed up for it once (before covid) and didn't use my slot as the regular lines were moving so well we just used them.
Laurie Beth, yeah, I just happened to see it in my Google feed. I always fly out of MSP too, so I found it interesting.
Tom, thanks - I didn't realize that. I haven't flown into Terminal 2 since I flew Midwest Airlines years ago. It does sound like it's in testing mode, so hopefully it will make its way over to 1.
A similar, and very successful program is in place at SeaTac airport, called Spot Saver. I imagine more and more airports will have such programs.
Denver just started testing this service. It is called DEN Reserve. Google for instructions on how to use it.
