Hello. We are trying to book transportation (rail within Norway, ferry Oslo-Copenhagen) and are hung up by sites not accepting our US VISA credit card number. Can anyone help? Thank you.

I cannot see how this is anything to do with the number :-)
- unless your card does have something different to four x four digits on the front. Advise your c.c. company you will be making internet purchases at Scandavian sites. Sign up for 'Verified by Visa'. If the above fails try another credit card and follow the above. If that fails use your debit card and follow the above.

Have you explained to the credit card issuer what you are doing? That's almost certainly the problem unless you have a mismatched address or phone number. When they ask for that it must match exactly (computers are dumb and only work with what they see not what is meant).
