I am trying to book our trains from Florence to Naples & return on the fast train. I can't seem to get Trenitalia to accept my credit card #, even tho the secure code is correct. SHould I just wait until I get to Italy to book. WIll it be more expensive?
I will be there early Oct.
THanks for any suggestions.
The Trenitalia site does not accept North American credit cards.
Buy your tickets when you get to Italy. If you do it as soon as you arrive, you might be able to get a slightly discounted fare. But standard fare tickets are reasonable. The station ticket machines do accept North American credit cards and they have an English option. No need to stand in line at a ticket window.
Linda,
As Tim mentioned, buying your tickets in Italy is really the easiest option. You can use either the ticket windows and speak to an agent, or the automated ticket machines. For a description of the ticket machines, check the roninrome.com website.
I'd suggest taking a few minutes when you first arrive and buy your tickets at the Firenze S.M.N. station.
Happy travels!
