Booking Train Query

Hi, Im trying to book a trip from Genoa to verona on 19th April.Leaving at 9am If i choose 1st class, with one passenger i get a Mini fare of Euro 44. If i increase to 2 passengers, the Mini fare falls away, and i am left with a base fare of Euro 97 Can anyone tell me why ?
Possibly it is because it is more than 60 days away ?

You can book up to 90 days in advance on trenitalia.com so tryng to book for 19 April is not the issue. I suspect that the allotted number of 1st class Mini fare tickets for your particular trains are nearly gone. I checked some dates in early May and found 1st class Mini fares for two people. Unless it's important to you to travel in 1st class, I suggest that you book 2nd class Mini fares.

Have tried booking again, and when i get to choose a on line ticket, the option is not available. It you look at the detail, they advise bookings can only be made 60 days in advance. I will try again next weekend, and this will be in the 60 day window period. Only reason for looking at first class, was to expreience the trains, that are a lot more modern and faster than the majority of South African trains. Pitty they dont have a High speed train on the route.
Will leave that till later in our trip when we get to Germany
