booking on bahn.de

When I book ticket from www.bahn.de, I see there are two kinds of prices. One is normal price. The other is "Europa-Spezial Schweiz", which is much cheaper. I would like to know whether this is available for foreign tourist. Is the difference only that the ticket is not flexible?

The fare should be available to you as long as you have an acceptable credit card to which to charge it. You will be sent by email a pdf file to print at home. This pdf file is your ticket, and has a "bar code" which will identify it to the conductor. Make sure the credit card has the same name as the ticket.

The ticket will be for a specific date and train, and is non-refundable and non-exchangeable or only exchangeable under certain circumstances, and probably with a penalty. Make sure you can make that train (i.e., don't book it for an hour after arriving from Australia. A late flight is no excuse.)

I used a similar Dauer-Spezial ticket last November without any problems, EXCEPT, my first train was late for the connection and I missed the IC to Karlsruhe - the Bahn's vault. I went to the ticket counter, and they rebooked me on the next available train (an ICE) to Karlsruhe, no extra charge.

Thanks a lot for the reply! The price is really cheap. It's about half of the normal price!!!
