Booking flights going into and out of different cities in Italy

We are going to Italy in Feb. of 2011. I want to fly into and out of 2 different cities and stay for a few nights in each before we go to our villa. Does anyone have advice on travel agents to use or a certain airline they like best. I have heard that Emrites is a great airline. I love Air France. I would love to hear from you. Kelly

Hi Kelly,

What cities are you interested in? If for example, you want to fly into Milan or Venice and home from Rome you can use a search engine like www.kayak.com and use the "Multi-City" search option. Between Milan and Rome using train and sometimes bus service can get you to many cities. Tuscany is an area where you might consider getting a car.

From Atlanta, Delta or Air France have pretty good flight options to Italy.

Not sure if I answered your question...

You don't need a travel agent. You can do this yourself on-line. Just check the box that says multi-city or something similar. It should be located next to the box that says round-trip.

I don't know how much difference there is between airlines. I just look for the best price. One thing I do is look at Kayak for flights. When I see what I like, I then go to the airline's website. I have never found it more expensive to book directly through the airline, and it is often less.

It's easy to book open jaws (2 different cities) right on airline websites using the multi-city feature. I do it all the time. Be sure to check both directions, as there can sometimes be a big difference in price (e.g. from Philadelphia, it's almost always cheaper to fly into the other city and back from Rome).
