Booking directly through Europcar better than through AutoEurope

Hello, I have rented previously through Autoeurope and had pretty good luck. This time I decided to check the rate directly through Europcar and it was significantly better price. Is there any reason not to book directly through Europcar? Thanks in advance for any help.

I booked directly thru Europcar for my first trip to Europe. There were no problems at all and actually, I felt they went the "extra mile". We were returning the car at the Tours train station at a time when they were not open. We did not have flexibility because we had train tickets. They made arrangements for us to turn in the keys at a hotel. That said, since then, AutoEurope has been a fair amount cheaper than Europcar. Once the car was from Hertz, the other time from Europcar.

They all seem to be fairly sim when comparing all aspects about european rental car agencies.
I have always compared rates and as u have found differences. And I have had difficulties with all with
Rental personnel,, lack of cleanliness of vehicle and selection. They want to give us Americans big cars as they use alot more gas and are more difficult to rent out. Eventhough paid for a sub compact or economy car.
So I can not pin point one better than another. Just stay with a major company and the quote u like.

Thanks guys. Looks like the description is just not exactly the same on Europcar website and prices from Autoeurope are actually better in the end.

Or perhaps they think many Americans would prefer a large car as that is what they're used to. Not everyone is out to rip Americans off.

That's what I've generally found to be the case. I rented directly through Europcar once or twice, but most times I've rented through Auto Europe or Kemwel. One non-monetary benefit to Auto Europe is that they will help you out if you run into problems with the car company, either before or after the rental
