Booking cancellation policy

If I were to book a non-refundable ticket on Delta website for a flight that's operated by KLM; will the ticket cancellation policy (beyond the first 24-hour period) be dictated by Delta or KLM? Delta cancellation policy means e-Credit will be issued; whereas KLM cancellation policy means you get taxes back but nothing else. So it will be advantageous to book with Delta if their cancellation policy is applicable (and not KLM).

If you book on the Delta website, then you get the Delta cancellation policy. I just went through the same decision on virgin and decided to book with Delta for that very reason.

Its been my experience that when I book on the Delta website, even if the flight is operated by KLM or AirFrance or whatever, the Delta terms still apply.

@Carol, @ jules:
I usually prefer to book with airlines that operates the international flights; but in this case it would make sense to book on Delta website instead. Thanks for the confirmation!
