Booking a train from Basel to Madrid

I am having to look at an alternative to flying out of Frankfurt and Munich (due to volcano). To fly out of Madrid...

  1. Who would I contact to book five adults on this train? Other details below.

Leave Basel SBB Friday, May 7, dep 20:28
Arrive Madrid-Puerta de Atocha Saturday, May 8, arr 13:52

  1. The last day of our already-bought Eurail passes (good in Germany-Austria-Switzerland) would be Friday, May 7. The EuroNight leaves Lausanne, Switzerland, at 22:47 that night, arriving in Barcelona at 09:43 the next morning. How would we pay for just the France and Spain parts?

  2. Bahn.de says "Fares not available." How do I find out the cost of this? I'm thinking the EuroNight and AVE portions would be pretty pricey.

  3. The above scenario is for 3 adults. The other 2 travelling with us will already have their Global Eurail passes, good for many days to come (they are studying in Spain). Is there an add-on fee for EuroNight and AVE trains for them? How do we book that?

IF we even get to go over...

Thank you so much for any input you may have. I so appreciate Rick Steves.com and his books. I'd like to add that I had a 30-minute session with Paul a couple of months back, in the earlier stages of putting all this together. He was very helpful, and it was well worth the money!
