Book flight now or later?

I'd wait a bit and watch the fares for a week or so. You're likely to see better deals just after the first of the year, but I have seen some "winter" deals lately on other carriers.

It depends on the price and how much you're willing to spend.

I booked my November flight to Frankfurt several weeks ago - when I checked back a few weeks later the price had risen 400$!

A wk is no problem, but I have hotel reservations in Zermatt on 2/2 and don;t feel comfortable waiting the first.

The price is $700 to $800 now. I paid around $550. last yr.

Bob, I don't blame you there -- your question indicated that you were going the LAST week of February. In that case, I'd still wait a month or so. Watch for awhile and see what the prices are like.

What time did you buy last year? I don't know anything about the fluctuations in prices throughout the year, but if you wait until around the same time, perhaps you'll find the same prices.

Bob - they should be having spring specials shortly - but if its 800-900 now - id go for it (direct if possible for you)... Its not the high season so you wont pay 1500! I fly from LAX/West-Coast so its a bit more... but you they fill up faster in economy. Some like to wait but if you know youre going for sure - go ahead and get it (ask an agent to make sure its the best). Also - sign up for the miles if you havent - so you can get a free one soon!
