Bologna to Munich DB train

Family of 4 with Flexpreis tix with seat reservations from Bologna Centrale to Munich.

Two questions: first, I understand we can take any train (we need to leave later now), but seat reservations do not transfer, correct? I’ve read that we can try to get new seat reservations the day of, but I could not find any DB ticketing agents, signs, or info at the station (we arrived there earlier from Rome). Trenitalia agents said they could not help. Any thoughts?!?!

Second, kinda related: any idea where in the station international trains are? We only saw trains going to other places in Italy (on the departures board). Again, no one seemed to know and actually looked at me strangely when I asked. That makes me a bit nervous!

Thank you for any help!!

Provided you have reserved seats online at the DB website for one of the direct EC's (EC 82 - 84 - 88) operated by DB you can change your reservation online at no cost. Just log in at www.bahn.com (or use your booking reference #) and review your bookings.

Does your booking have train changes, or is it one of the 'no change' trains?

If you have any changes, you may need to be looking for where the first change occurs when looking at the 'departures' board.

I would not expect to find DB personnel at an Italian station. As the others say, if you want to reserve seats in a different train, do it online.

There is nothing special about international trains, no special part of the station for them. They also serve Italian destinations, then cross the border. Just look up the platform number (either online or on the departures board at the station). Hence the funny look from the staff.

Thank you all! I must have been doing something wrong at first, but I was able to change our seat reservations to a later train. Once in the station, it was very easy to find our train. Seems like I was worrying for no reason! I appreciate your help!
