Slowly but surely our plans for trip to Europe is taking shape. You guys have been fantastic helping me out.
Here is one more for ya:
Plan on going from Paris to Geneve via train.
The plan is to start a boat cruise from Geneve and ending the day at Lausanne.
I was trying to find what my options are for the boat cruise and how long would it take reach Lausanne and if there are intermediate stops thats worth stopping for ?
I have found one site so far http://www.cgn.ch/eng
I checked out the timetables but a bit confusing.
what I plan on doing is to go from Paris to Geneve station,
check out lake view there, take boat cruise and end at Lausanne for the night. The next morning we plan on to Zermatt.
common guys... any suggestions ?
Hello Ritesh,
I have been to Switzerland a few times but have not yet had the pleasure of cruising on Lake Geneva. But you can find information on the web since its hard to come by on this site. See below.
Lake Geneva (Léman) Cruises - Lake Geneva, on whose shores the city of Geneva is situated, is perhaps the best known of all the lakes of Switzerland. The lake features the Jet d 'Or, a 40 meter high jet of water that spouts from the lake. A lake cruise on Lake Geneva adds to the charm of your Switzerland tour. Enjoy fun boat cruise on Lake Geneva, i.e. the largest lake in central Europe. For more than 130 years now, the Belle Époque lake steamers take tourists on cruises on water routes in the waters of Lake Geneva. Dine on on-board restaurants and regale glorious sunsets that bathe the mountains and waters in dreamy hues. While cruising, scan the shores of Lake Geneva for Swiss castles and treat yourself to adventures as the boat calls on places that are gateways to other exciting adventures, such as taking the cogwheel train to the Rochers-de-Naye or Les Pleiades, or the Swiss chocolate train going to Gruyeres and Broc. The boat runs frequently in summers while in winters the schedule is reduced.
