I am flying aer lingus from NY to Rome. I have my booking reference # but how do I go about getting plane ticket and boarding card? Aer Lingus website has no clear definition. John
Head over to the Aer Lingus site and click the "online check-in" tab; it shows up on the opening page. Be aware that you can't print out a boarding pass until 24 hours before your flight. The booking reference number is all you need until the day of your flight.
Self-service kiosk or desk at the airport? Type the number in and get paper. Scan the barcode, even if its on your phone. If you forget it or loose it, type in your name. If you forget your name, repost for more advice.
You will not get a paper "plane ticket," as these are now electronic. Twenty-four hours before your flight, go online as described above, to see if you can check in. For some international flights, you can't check in except at the airport. Once checked in, and if you are allowed, you can print the boarding pass. If you can't check in, or if you can check in but can't print the boarding pass, don't worry. You just show your passport at the check in desk, and that will pull up your e-ticket. If you are a worrier, you can print out and bring the e-mail of your reservation, but it's not necessary.
thanks for the help...a good consolation.
