I just booked R/T flights from JFK to Rome (FCO) on British Airways for $702 for 2 people. It's basic economy (no checked bags, no seat selection until 24 hours in advance). Regular economy price was $932. Our travel dates are April 29-May 11. I booked it through the BA website.

I checked the non-stop fares from BNA (Nashville) to LHR, and they were priced as high as Summer rates for the 3rd week of May.

Continental: With that fare, I'll just buy clothes when I get there! Actually, I have OneWorld Status so I can reserve seats and check bags regardless of the fare. :-)

That's interesting. I'm not sure with Delta that anyone with metal status can reserve seats/check bags when he/she buys a basic economy ticket.
