How do I get from Bilbao by train or bus to Bayonne leaving around 10 or 11 am and arriving in Bayonne at the hotel in time for the start of the Rick Steves' Tour ? Thanks

Hey Kathy, Check this two bus companies looking for the specific date you need: http://www.pesa.net - I've found two daily buses, leaving 07:30 and 13:00, and arriving 10:30 and 16:00, respectively.http://www.alsa.es/en (go to Tickets>International) - I've found only a night bus leaving 23:30 and arriving 01:30 on the next day. Didn't find any trains... Good luck and happy travels!

Train travel across the French-Spanish border can be awkward. Bus is a better bet since the coaches arrive in the centre of Bayonne while the train station is on the outskirts. Some, maybe all, busses stop in San Sebastian. It's a scenic ride.

The PESA Bus schedule currently shows no service on Sunday for the Bilbao, Spain, to Bayonne, France, route. I wonder if that schedule will change for spring / summer to include Sunday service? Thanks. kathy
