How much would a ticket cost to go from one place in Bilbao to another. I will be staying in Bilbao and I've heard people walk a lot there. However, I will probably be taking the metro (I think that's what it's called) or the subway often. How much would a one way and/ or a return ticket (on average) cost to get from one place in Bilbao, Spain to another. I've tried looking this up on websites like Bilbobus and others but it usually won't work or give me a price. Thank you!
They're zoned and run from 1.5 to 1.75 one-way. Round trips are exactly doubled, so no savings.
Day tickets are five euro and cover all zones. I don't know where the zone boundaries are. The line on the right bank goes all the way out to Plencia, the one on the left to someplace past Portugalette. If you still have some left over from 1955, you'd have paid about a dime to ride all day.
Thank you! Where did you get this information from?
Err...top of my head. I don't research answers. I grew up there and go back every once in a while. I might be off a tad on the exact prices, but there's no way a single one-way is going to be two euro. And while I have your attention, you ought to go out to Portugalette to see the suspension ferry. It looks like the Tower of London in profile and was designed by one of Eiffel's henchmen. It holds all of about a half dozen cars and I think a foot ride is a euro and a half each way. Bilbao was a major port and ship building facility back in the day and that was the cheapest way they could get the ships in and out of the Nervion.
Ed's right about the unusual "ferry", and he probably takes for granted the funicular that climbs to the top of the valley where Bilbao is nestled. Great view. In fact this old rustbelt city, dating back to the days of fishing and salt exports, has been turned around by the Guggenheim and other intellectual pursuits and is now an intriguing stop in Northern Spain. The municipal tourist office runs worthwhile walking tours.
