We are a group of 8 guys in their 60s who would like to rent bikes for a week to take day trips from the home of a friend in Macon. We can't find bikes for rent in the area. Any suggestions? Many thanks!

Ed, I rented bikes in Burgundy with a buddy four years ago. You want Bourgogne Randonnées, in Beaune.

Their have VTTs in a wide range of sizes; the quality is good. (These are like souped-up hybrids, upright with many gears.) You an also rent helmets, panniers, and other gear, and they will pick up and deliver (for a fee). Or if it works for you pick out your bikes yourself in Beaune and take them by train to Macon.
