I want to rent bikes for short segments of the Mosel on 2 different days but don't want the hassel of returning the bike to the original shop. Can I rent a bike at Bullay train station and return it to Cochem train station? Also, same between Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trarbach on different days (no trains to these towns).

I don't recall any bike rental place at Bullay station, unless it would be new in the last 4 years. We got rental bikes from our weingut lodgings, returning them every night. You can take bikes on the regional trains. There is a train from Bullay to Traben-Trarbach, but that is the end of the line. Also there is a bus service that has a bike trailer. You can reserve a spot for your bike. I'll get back to you with the website.
