I just made a reservation through Bestfares for a trip inside the USA to fly AA. AA has a 24 hold policy to cancel w/o charge. Does Bestfares?
Who knows?? Ask Bestfares. My experience is that tickets brokers do not have that policy.
They do not open until Monday morning. That leaves me in a quandary on the cancellation.
I called AA. They say there is no 24 hour hold if tickets are held through an outside party.
This just got a bit bizarre. I really looked closely at the confirmation notice I received from BF. It says one can use the cancellation tool within 24 hours to cancel the flight, and will lose applicable fees. I looked for the tool, but couldn't find it, but noticed an 877 # that said they had 24 hour/ 7 days service. BF is closed during the weekend. I called the #, and someone from "Expedia" answered!! It may have been another well known seller. He asked for my ticke #, and said that I could cancel for the full amount. No charges. Further, he said, since "they" (BF?) are closed on weekends,I have until 11:30 pm central time to make the cancellation. As it stands, it's not going to make much difference whether I change or not. My concern was about an awkward return time for my pick-up when I arrive home. That just loosened up, so it is no problem. Still I will call BF tomorrow, and just confirm their policy on this.
Not sure how this relates to Europe.
I thought the topic was generally Transportation. Otherwise, pardon me.
