I see there are some posts on this topic and that I can get one through Rick Steves (with freebies) or Eurail direct but has anyone seen or used any other website for a better deal or ease of use, etc?
I use RailEurope.com only because they have free shipping, but you don't get any of the free crap. Rick's site charges $15 for shipping.
What about Eurail.com? Thats where I've been going to look at all the timetables, prices, etc. Has anyone bought from them and had a good/bad experience?
Just to add to my previous post: I checked and Eurail.com has free shipping as well. Whats the difference between raileurope.com and eurail.com?
Good information...thanks!
So it sounds like you really pay $15 for Rick's "freebies" then. Glad I asked!
You do pay the $15, but they also give you 20% off items in the travel store. So if you are needing to stock up on guidebooks, packs, etc it could be worth it.
I second the 20% discount, I made a purchase exceeding $200 before buying the railpasses and was given a $40 credit back to my credit card after making the railpass purchase. I did have to ask for it, but there was no problem in getting it.
