We will be staying in a condo in Connelles, France for a week in October of this year. We will be traveling into Paris for 4 days of sight seeing. Wondering what the beat way of commuting in every day. We will have a car so we could drive in. There is a rail station about 5 miles away that we could go to to travel by train. If we did go by train, which station in Paris would be the best for The Louvre, Notre Dame, etc? Thanks!
Trains from Val-de-Reuil station run about hourly direct to Paris St. Lazare station (takes an hour); no choice, since each Paris station serves a different direction of travel. All stations are served by Metro and bus to get you around the city. From St. Lazare to the Louvre is two stops on the M14 (purple line) or it's walkable.
Thanks so much Laura. Will the trains be crowded int he mornings around 7-8 am? Will we be able to just walk up to the ticket window and get tickets or will we need to get them the day before? Are there any multi-day ticket deal? Easy to park our car at the Val-de-Reuil station?
Yes it will be crowded in the mornings between 7-8 am, you'll be going into Paris with all the commuters. But driving would be worse, a far bigger headache.
