Best way to get out of Paris back to CDG airport

Is there an express bus to CDG airport from the 7th district (Rick's beloved Rue Cler area)? I opted for a private car upon arriving in Paris for 85E but I wondered if there were a cheaper way to leave Paris?

Ratp says take Metro 8 line from Ecole Militaire to Opera and then get on the Express bus to CDG. 57 minutes (normal traffic). 10 Euro for the bus, plus Metro fare.

For even less money (€9.25) take Metro line 8 from Ecole Militaire to Strasbourg-St Denis, Metro line 4 to Gare du Nord, and the RER B to CDG. Be aware that the RER B line divides northeast of Paris so be sure to get on a train that is going to CDG.

Taxi would be about 50-60 euros,, cheaper then a private car. G7 has an english speaking operator.

We stayed in the Rue Cler area in May - on a Rick Steves city tour with a few days on our own on either end of the tour. On the way in, we took the Roissy bus and the metro - this was difficult with luggage. Going home, our hotel arranged for a shuttle to CDG at a cost of 38 euros. This is technically a shared ride, in that the shuttle driver makes stops at various hotels. As it turned out, we were the only ones in the van. The driver dropped us off at the Air France terminal.

Do the metro and RER. Cheaper, faster and no traffic jams.

Thank you. I think because one of us had a hip replacement, it would be better to take a taxi than to deal with the up-and-down stairs of the RER. I was hoping there would be a super shuttle bus. So taxis don't have set prices to the airport, like in Athens and other cities, huh?

No, the meter will be running between Paris and CDG. You could take a short taxi ride from your hotel to Opera and the Roissybus (referred to by Sam) from there to CDG.

Yes, SuperShuttle exists in Paris, as well as other shared van services.

You can book the Supershuttle online ahead of time.
Or you can have the hotel receptionist book you a taxi 24 hrs in advance. Last June, for the first time, the shuttle services were booked out when we hoped to leave, so we had to hire a last-minute taxi which cost 70 euros.

Can you tell me please if the shuttle is 38euros per person? We are going to be in Paris the first week in October...wondering if a taxi for 3 people would be less expensive than a shared van at a per person cost to go from Place Vendome to CDG?
Thank you.

We just returned from Paris this weekend and I HIGHLY recommend the taxi... unless cost is a major concern. My husband & I planned to arrive in Paris after 4 days of jet-lagged wedding celebations & knew we'd be totally exhausted. I agonized over transport options (taxi/RER/shuttle)for weeks, but was finally convinced by others on this helpline that taxi service was the most reliable & easy option. They were SO right! Cost for the taxi from CDG to the 6th Arr was 63E & the return ride was 65E. Both trips were during heavy rush hours (4p.m. & 8 a.m.). Both taxi drivers were very courteous, professional & really knew their way thru the heavy traffic. For our return trip to CDG, we made a reservation with the G7 Taxi Company (they have a special phone number for English speaking customers). Driver arrived right on time, was really nice & professional, had a very comfortable car and dropped us right at our gate. It was great! Phone number for the G7 Taxi Company (for English speaking customers)is:
01-41-27-66-99. We reserved our taxi for 8:00a.m. to make our 10:40a.m. flight. The terminal was PACKED with travelers and very long lines at passport control & security check points and our timing worked out very well. Bon voyage to you!

We were in Paris mid-June and taking a shuttle arranged through our hotel front desk out to CDG went seamlessly. It was a shared van that stopped at about 3 other hotels, but we got picked up at the hotel door and dropped off right in front of our airline at the airport. If I remember correctly, it was about E26 or so (we were in the 5th Ar., just past The Sorbonne) So worth it!

@Susan -- yes, if you are three people, take a taxi. You'd pay more for the shared shuttle than you would for your own private taxi, plus have to worry about whether the other people on the shuttle's schedule have overslept, etc etc. the price is so high per person for a shuttle that if you are more than one person, you'll do better taking a taxi.

When we took the shared shuttle, only the two of us were on board. The total fare was 38 euros.
