We need the least expensive way to get from point A to point B. This is the last thing we need to do before we go home. thank you.
sounds like bus service is the way to go:
The only direct public transport between London's Heathrow and Stansted airports are the National Express coaches which shuttle between the two airports. Note - there is no direct train service.
By far the most popular option connecting Heathrow and Stansted are the frequent bus / coach shuttles providing around 30 journeys each day between Heathrow and Stansted. These are run by National Express Airport.
We would recommend you allow a minimum of 4 hours between landing at one airport and checking in at the other.
looks like cost is 20pounds one way.
got this off internet site: http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_stansted_transfer.htm
Wow. 4 hours. I am learning so much. I didn't even look to see that my "budget" flight to and fro from London to Ireland would be so complicated. Not un-doable, just complicated. And ending up not being as much budget as I had hoped.:) This is very interesting, facilitating our own trip instead of using a travel agent. But I am still excited!
If you want the cheapest (NOT easiest), you can take an EasyBus to London Victoria for around £6 and then take the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow for £4 (cash fare). Definitely allow 4 hours for this option as well. The bus is about 1.75 hours, and allow 45 minutes for the Underground journey.
