Best way to get from ship dock in Venice to airport.

I presume you are not spending a couple of nights in Venice itself. Additionally I presuppose that you will be catching a flight at a reasonable hour since the ship probably docks in the early a.m. You have several options. Our flight leaves at 6:40 a.m. We are not planning on staying in Venice after the cruise. Are there any taxis available that early? How long does it take to get to the airport? Should we just plan on paying the big price the cruise line asks for transfers? Please help.

Yikes! 0640 flight departure means you have to be at the airport at 0540 which means a water taxi at 0500 that's 5 a.m. Team up with another couple on the ship to defray the cost. Or try Treviso Car Service www.tourleadervenice.com which will pick you up at the cruise dock. Both take o/a 1/2 hr that is, once you board your chosen transportation. Remember you can't disembark the ship until it clears the port authorities and then you have to shuffle off etc. Do you really really have to fly out so early? Hell of a way to end a relaxing cruise....

I hope your ship docks the day before this early morning flight, so you can get to the airport... otherwise I don't think you can get there on time, unless your cruise line sold you the airline tickets and they know something we don't. It usually takes a couple of hours to get off a ship.
