We're trying to decide how to get from Reutte to Paris, and were hoping to hear how others may have done it. We don't want to drive, so we're thinking of either flying or taking the train. How would you do it? We figure we need to get to a large city to do either - which one makes most sense?
Thanks in advance... Scott
Check with the low cost carriers for flights from Munich to Paris. Airberlin.com, germanwings.com, tuifly.com etc. Alternatively there are flights on intersky.biz from Friedrichshafen (Lake of Constance) to Paris. Reutte to Friedrichshafen by train (either via Austria or Bavaria) is pretty scenic. There is a shuttle train from Friedrichshafen train station to the airport.
There is also a night train from Munich to Paris, arriving at 7:52. This way you could save the cost of a night's hotel room AND save prime daytime for sightseeing. You can catch that train in Ulm at 22:20. You need to book that train well in advance, as it is a popular run. From Ulm, you can get SparNight fares as low as €98 for two in a couchette 4 or a standard fare of €270 for two in a private double.
If you do decide to train to Friedrichshafen, you can buy p2p tickets to Friedrichshafen airport from Nonnenhorn, outside Lindau, for €4,90 each and use a €27 Bayern-Ticket from Reutte to Nonnenhorn.
