Best way to get from Munich airport to Salzburg and back

Hi - We'll be flying into Munich in December and want to get the best (least expensive) way to Salzburg? Train? Bus? Shuttle? Thanks for your help. Julia

For 2 people, a Bayern-Ticket for €29 will cover all your transportation - S-Bahn to Munich Hbf and regional train to Salzburg. That works for RT in one day. If the return is on another day, it's €29 each day.
