Best way to get from Milan train station to Airport

Is there a train or metro station connection from Milan Terminal to (MXP)Airport.....or even a bus connection? And how long should I allow to get from Train station to Airport

There is frequent bus service from the main Milan train station to and from MXP. Plan on just under an hour for the trip. If you are closer to the Cardorna train station, there is a train that runs from there to terminal #1 at the airport.

I rode the bus, but usually a train will be faster because it won't be affected by auto traffic.

I would try to catch the train.

Depending on what time your flight is, the bus might actually be the faster option (if it is not in high traffic hours). The bus is around 6-7 euro, and there are buses that go to all 3 milan airports, so if you take the bus make sure when you are getting on its going to MXP. Give youself 1.5hrs travel time just to be on the safe side.. you never know what can cause a train delay or a traffic jam in italy - especially now that we are hitting the tourist season!

"I would try to catch a train".

That usually works best if you can catch one when it is standing still. They go really fast and are hard to catch.

The only train connection from Milan to Malpensa is a private line that goes from Cordona station.

? Brilliant, Lee. Trains are not really hard to catch. We saw a grandmother catch one to Chicago last
week.

This one was NOT going “really fast” and was NOT “hard to catch”.

But Carl, it was an American train. What do you expect? They seldom move at all and when they do it is pretty slow.

we took the bus last Sept--7 euros--pay when you get there, no need for advance tickets. It is behind the train station--if looking at the front of station, go to the right. We trained in from Florence the night prior, stayed at Hilton, 2 blocks away, wa.ked out of hotel at & AM, got on a bus that left about 7:20. Buses left every 20 minutes---reverse commute in AM, so quick, tons of extra time for our 10 AM flight. This was one of the easiest connections I have ever made.

We've flown out of Milan 2x. Both times we took the bus from the main train station to the airport. We've flown out of both airports, and the bus worked the best.

As a previous poster noted...as you look at the front of the train station, the buses leave from the right hand side. There is a ticket office by the buses, you can purchase your tickets there.

Be on time, the buses leave quickly. You should make sure you get on the correct bus for MXP. Stow luggage under the bus, there isn't room on board, unless you don't mind it sitting on your lap for the 30-40 min ride.
