Best Way From Heathrow to Bayswater Area of London

My wife and I are scheduled to arrive at Heathrow on Friday morning, and are looking for the best way to get to our hotel (Vancouver Studios in Bayswater). I was thinking that it might be a good idea to take the tube from Heathrow to Victoria Station, and then take a cab from the station to our hotel. This would give us our first good look at the city, and shouldn't be all that expensive.
Any thoughts out there from you RS regulars?

If you take the Heathrow Connect or Express, you arrive in Paddington Station. Paddington and Bayswater are close, I believe, in fact next to, each other in London. So you are nearly where you want to be. Larry from Springfield

Use the journey planner for the London Underground. It can help you route your trip.

Jim - From Heathrow underground station take the Piccadilly Line towards Cockfosters or Arnos Grove to Earl's Court station. From Earl's Court station take the District Line towards Edgware Road (Circle Line)to Bayswater station. The trip is about an hour and the fare is £4.00. You may want to look at purchasing an Oyster card at Heathrow airport.

If you want to travel above ground all the way, take the Heathrow Connect (much cheaper than the Heathrow Express) to Paddington and then either walk or take a taxi to your hotel.

Hi Jim, my wife and I have stayed on Bayswater road every summer for the past 15 years. Joel has given you excellent metro directions to the "Bayswater Tube Station" which is close to where you want to go. If, however, you have more than a couple of small roll-ons and a day bag I would suggest the Heathrow Connect from Heathrow to Paddington Station. I noticed that your Vancouver Studios state that they are located a "10 minute walk from Paddington." But the fact is you are a good mile plus from Paddington. I would go along with Tim and grab a black cab at Paddington.
