What is the best way to get from the DeGaulle Airport to the Grand Hotel Leveque. I am not renting a car. What train and metro do I take.
Take the RER B from CDG to St-Michel Notre-Dame. Transfer to the RER C and take it to Invalides. Transfer to Metro line 8 and take it to Ecole Militaire. The fare is €8.40.
Or take the Roissybus nonstop from CDG to Opera (€8.90). Take Metro line 8 from Opera to Ecole Militaire (€1.60).
See this zoomable map of the Metro & RER system.
We took the shuttle that you can reserve through the hotel on their web site. I know it costs more but we felt it was well worth it for the ease of getting there. We really enjoyed our stay at the Leveque. Our room was on the top floor in the front and we could sit on the very small balcony, drink wine and see the top of the Eiffel Tower. Have a great time.
I just answered this the other day for someone. We took the inexpensive Roissy bus that Rick recommends as one option and it took us hours to finally get to our hotel by the time we took the bus ride, found the metro station (never did find the correct Opera station) and found the hotel. We landed at 7:30 am and finally got to our hotel close to noon!!!
As we were checking in, we noticed the sign for their 19 Euros shuttle and wished so badly we had known about it. I know it sounds expensive but we were exhausted AND missed half a day in Paris!!!!!
Outlined above is one reason I never stay in the 7 th,, Ricks fave. I like the 5 and 6th as many of the hotels I have stayed at I can walk to from St Michel or Luxembourg RER stops.
Thanks, for the replies. Looks like I will take the shuttle. Sounds like a good value.
