Best way from Cannes to Nice?

We'll be in Cannes as part of a cruise for one day and want to go to Nice to spend some time in the Cours Saleya and the market there. Which is better: train or bus? Which will be closer, harbor to harbor?

Bus #200 makes the trip in 1hr40min. The train takes 30 minutes. The bus stations are closer to each harbor than are the train stations, but the walking distances aren't bad.
