Hi, 5 of my closest girlfriends and I are planning a trip to Paris, France and need to know the easiest way to get from CDG to Montmartre. We are ladies in our late 20s and are on a budget, but time is of the essence. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for helping clarifying, we will be staying at the Comfort Hotel Lamarck The address is:
147, rue Marcadet | 18th Arr., 75018 Paris, France
RER to Gare du Nord, transfer to metro line number 4 towards Porte de Clignancourt, transfer to metro line number 12 at Marcadet Poissonniers towards Mairie d'Issy, get off at Jules Joffrin and walk about 3-4 blocks (slight uphill). Metro Map: http://www.aparisguide.com/maps/metro.gif
RER Map: http://www.aparisguide.com/maps/rer.gif Or take a cab from Gare du Nord.
Where exactly? Most people don't describe Montmartre accurately and the hill makes a difference in selecting the transportation mode.
Can't agree at all with the above post. If you stay on Metro 12 one stop past Joffrin, you'd get off at Lamark-Caulaincourt. Walk out the station, down a flight of stairs, and you're right on Marcadet close to the hotel. It's much shorter. Also, slightly uphill with luggage sucks - - and that hill is l-o-n-g. Going partly by metro and partly by cab is probably the most expensive way to pull that trip off with five people. Either take the rer/metro and walk for eleven bucks each or split a minivan taxi five ways at about fifteen bucks each. With all the train changes, the time for each is going to be so close that I can't guess which would be faster. The taxi would save a lot of luggage humping.
