Best Transportation from Rome Airport to Boscolo Exedra Roma Hotel

We are traveling to Rome from Texas. We need to get from the Airport to Boscolo Exedra Roma Hotel. What is the best method of transportation?

We will then be needing to get to the Port for a Cruise a few days later. Same question...What is the best way to get to the port?

Thank you for your information.

Google shows the hotel within 5-min walking distance to the Termini train station. So take the Leonardo Express Bus from the airport to the train station and then map out your walking directions in Google (for the sake of speed, I'll just post them below). Just be sure to have control over your luggage and don't let anyone distract or help you. The walk shouldn't be difficult.

I'm sure your hotel can also arrange a private transfer (most costly). Or you can take a taxi, which will be somewhere in the middle.

I have no idea about ports since I'm not a cruiser. But a cruise website should have all the directions already spelled out...all you need is Google.

The hotel is walking distance from the station, but the Leonardo Express train costs 15€ each.
A taxi will cost you exactly 48€ for up to 4 people.
Traveling time is similar.
So depending on how many people in the party, the convenience of a taxi may not be much more expensive than the train.

From where you are to the port of Civitavecchia you can take a train. Then from the Civitavecchia train station to the port it's a 1km walk, or a short taxi ride.
The train ride ranges from 50 to 80 minutes and costs from 5€ to 16€ per person depending on type of train selected (slower regional trains are cheaper than faster high speed Frecciabianca trains).
www.trenitalia.com for schedules and prices.
If you book a private car transfer from Rome all the way to the cruise port, the average price is 130€. Travel time is about 1 hour or so.

We took the Leonardo Express yesterday from Termini to FCO - 14€ per person and just over 30 minutes. Our hotel was a few blocks from Termini. It was a pleasant experience - and there are plugs on the train. FCO is a huge, very busy airport and I 'm guessing we walked about 2 miles to get from the train to our gate. If you aren't fit or you are short on time I would recommend a taxi which haas a fixed rate to Rome of 48€.

The best way is always to have a car and driver -- door to door. However, the train is cheaper, slower, but you will get there just as well.

You can catch the train at Termini and ride it out to Civitavecchia. It is about 45 minutes. Then catch a local bus down to the entrance to the port for 2 Euros. Then change over to a free port authority bus out to your ship.

My mom and I stayed at the Boscolo Exedra hotel a few years ago. We took the Leonardo Express from the airport into Rome and walked with luggage from the train station. I would not do it again. It was a pain schlepping luggage to the hotel, especially for my mom. It's a longer walk than you think. I would take a taxi next time, the cost just part of traveling. It's a very nice hotel.

The distance from Termini to your hotel is no more than walking end to end of most suburban shopping malls.

You will probably have a longer walk from your plane to the airport exit door, than what the walk to the hotel is from Termini.

Would a taxi take someone 2/10 ths of a mile, or would they blow you off (or charge you some ridiculous amount not commensurate with the distance)?

Recalling our experience with Rome traffic, I'd be surprised if the train isn't isn't faster - though you might have to schlep your luggage a bit more.

Piazza Della Reppublica used to be called Piazza Esedra (Exedra), so your hotel is very near there. I would exit the train station and walk, unless you pack heavy; in that case, I would take a taxi directly from the airport.
